Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about private links, fresh pseudonyms, creator controls, and what anonymity on Wheesper really means.

Start a discussion

Getting started

What is Wheesper?

Wheesper is a private discussion platform for conversations where names, profiles, or reputations might get in the way of an honest answer. A creator starts a discussion, shares its private link, and participants join under fresh pseudonyms.

Do I need an account?

No. You can create a guest discussion or join one without providing a name or email address. Creators can optionally use an email account so their discussions are recoverable and available from a dashboard.

How do I start a discussion?

Enter a topic, add an optional opening message, and choose how long replies should stay open. Wheesper gives you one link to share with participants and, for a guest discussion, a separate private link for managing it.

Can I invite someone without revealing my identity?

Yes. Use Send anonymous invite to have Wheesper email the discussion link privately on your behalf. The invitation identifies Wheesper, but it does not name or identify you as the sender. The recipient may still be able to infer who invited them from the discussion topic, timing, or surrounding context.

Is Wheesper free?

Yes. Wheesper is currently provided without charge. If paid features are introduced, you will see the price and any additional terms before agreeing to a charge.

Privacy and identity

How do pseudonyms work?

Wheesper randomly assigns you a pseudonym when you join a discussion. It stays the same inside that discussion so people can follow the conversation, but it is not connected to your pseudonyms or activity in other discussions.

Is a Wheesper discussion private?

It is private by link: discussions are not listed in public feeds or search, and their links are designed to be difficult to guess. Anyone who receives the link can enter, read, and—while replies are open—participate. Because a recipient can forward it, share the link only through a channel you trust.

Is Wheesper end-to-end encrypted?

No. Connections use encrypted transport, but Wheesper is not end-to-end encrypted. Wheesper and its infrastructure providers process the information needed to store and deliver discussions. Do not treat a discussion as a place for passwords, secrets, or information that must never be disclosed.

Can a discussion creator identify participants?

Wheesper does not show creators a participant's name, email address, or raw IP address. Participants should still avoid revealing identifying details in what they write, and someone may infer an identity from context, timing, or writing style.

Does Wheesper store IP addresses or sell personal data?

Wheesper does not store raw IP addresses in its application database. It creates a one-way, secret-keyed fingerprint that changes daily for abuse prevention and is deleted after 24 hours. Wheesper does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Managing a discussion

What can a discussion creator manage?

A creator can share or invite people to the discussion, remove replies, lock the discussion to stop new replies, and permanently delete it. Signed-in creators manage discussions from their dashboard; guest creators use their separate management link.

What happens when a discussion expires?

Expiration makes a discussion read-only; it does not delete it. Existing participants can still read it through the same private link. A discussion set to remain open indefinitely stays active until its creator or an authorised administrator locks or deletes it.

What if I lose a guest management link?

Wheesper cannot recover a lost guest management link. While you still have it, you can claim the discussion with an email account to make it recoverable. Treat the management link like a password: anyone who has it can lock or permanently delete the discussion.

Can I save a discussion for later?

Yes. If you sign in, you can save a discussion to your dashboard. Saving it creates a bookmark; it does not give you creator or moderation access.

How do deletion and account deletion work?

A creator can permanently delete an individual discussion. When deleting an account, a creator can also delete all associated discussions and replies, or keep them as permanent anonymous, read-only archives. Removing one reply erases its text but leaves a placeholder so the thread remains understandable.

Safety and support

How do I report harmful or illegal content?

Use the Report control on the discussion or reply and choose the most relevant reason. You can also email contact@wheesper.com. Authorised administrators may review reports, remove content, restrict access, or take other proportionate action. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

Who can use Wheesper?

You must be at least 16 years old. If the law where you live requires you to be older to agree to an online service, that higher age applies. Organisations are responsible for using Wheesper in line with the privacy, employment, research, and other laws that apply to them.
